WP Nofollow Categories

WP Nofollow Categories adds nofollow attribute to all category links throughout the blog. It will also add noindex tag to category page. This will effectively remove the category pages from SEO point of view.

The goal is to flow the page rank to other pages on your site like posts and tags while avoiding duplicate content issue.

    Hi Vladimir,
Thanks for this plugin. It works on category links in a widget, which is great, but it is not nofollowing/noindexing all category links in my theme.
You can see under the H1 title heading I have "filed under..." and a category link:
    http://i.padaccessories.info/the-temple-all-leather-ipad-case-truly-unique/
I can see in my theme code this is generated by:
Any suggestions on how I could work around this? Or any way you could implement nofollow for these types of links in your excellent plugin?
    Cheers,
    Lachlan

I see the php was stripped from my last post - I'll try and reformat, category links are generated by this:
      ?php the_category(', ') ?
And unfortunately they do not have the nofollow applied.

Another small update, I found a way to add nofollow to these links by modifying functions.php.
        via Bill Erickson:
        http://www.billerickson.net/adding-nofollow-to-category-links/

I have decided after all this though to simply remove the category link entirely.

Thx, I still think it would be cool if your plugin could nofollow the above types of links automagically, it would be the one stop solution then.

I think I would like to use this plugin too but it seem that it too hasn't been updated in a while. Will it still work with WP3?

I just installed it on WP 3.0.1 and it seems to do what it's supposed to!

      Thanks for the plugin!
